Meet your insider local guide in front of the exit of the Cruise Terminal. Your guide will be holding an ‘’Alma de Creta’’ sign. Enjoy a personal pick up and head to explore the peninsula of Akrotiri.
2
We will be first visiting the beautiful monastery of Agia Triada ("Holy Trinity"). The monastery was built in the 17th century with Byzantine-style architecture on the orders of a Venetian family. It has wonderful gardens and a museum where you can admire important religious icons and a rich collection of codices.
The monastery is still functioning today. Its monks are engaged in the production of wine and olive oil which you can taste in the monastery catacombs while your local guide talks you through the production process.
3
Going through local fields with plantations we will next reach the beach where you will have time according to your schedule to enjoy a swim. Stavros beach offers sunbeds and umbrella amenities and it is generally sheltered from the wind therefore making it perfect for swimming and especially safe for children.

Next, we shall be visiting the Old town of Chania. Your guide will walk around with you, introduce you to Chania's cultural identity through story-telling, explore the secret spots and find the hidden treasures of the Old Town. Prehistoric ruins lie just a few steps away from Byzantine and Renaissance fortification walls, old monasteries, Turkish Hamams, fortresses as well as Christian, Jewish and Muslim places of worship. Every house and narrow street in the old town hides a different story or legend, about rulers, wealthy people, and slaves. You will stop by all the main attractions of the old town, walk along the waterfront and see the important works and public buildings and how their use changed throughout the years, depending on the needs of each conqueror. At the end of your tour, you will have the best addresses to explore Chania even further if you have enough time, if not, you will be taken back to Souda port.
