This small-group cooking class is the perfect escape to a traditional village and a wonderful introduction to everyday Cretan life. During this experience, you will visit the village of Agioi Pantes in the Apokoronas region, where you will be warmly welcomed by a local family, introduced to their home, and offered a refreshing welcome drink.
The experience continues with a visit to the garden, where you will pick fresh vegetables that you will later use in your cooking class. You will learn how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes, some of which will be cooked in an authentic wood-fired oven. Each recipe has its own history and origins, which your host will share while you cook, taste local wine, and enjoy traditional cheeses.
While the food is cooking, you will have time to explore the house, which resembles a small folklore museum. Here, you can admire artifacts from the past, learn about the Cretan way of life, and discover the traditional art of Cretan weaving.
The aim of this experience is to make you feel like part of the local family in a warm and welcoming environment.
