Prehistoric ruins lie just a few steps away from Byzantine and Renaissance fortification walls, old monasteries, Turkish Hamams, fortresses as well as Christian, Jewish and Muslim places of worship.
Every house and narrow street in the old town hides a different story or legend, about rulers, wealthy people, and slaves. You will stop by all the main attractions of the old town, walk along the waterfront and see the important works and public buildings and how their use changed throughout the years, depending on the needs of each conqueror.
4
Our next destination is the legendary Stavros beach of Zorba the Greek fame where you will have plenty of time to bathe in the clear turquoise waters.
Stavros beach is generally sheltered from rough sea conditions, making it perfect for swimming and especially safe for children.
