Your local guide will pick you up from any defined place within Chania region. Your private daytrip will start by heading towards the region of Apokoronas. We shall first visit Koules Fortress that occupies a lofty position on a hill. While soaking up views of Souda bay your local guide will introduce you to Crete’s turbulent history.
2
As we continue our road trip through traditional villages, we will stop at an olive mill so that you get acquainted with the Cretan olive oil production and taste high-quality olive oil.
3
We shall continue our visit to a typical village dating back to the Venetian time, we will have time to explore its old neighborhood while engaging with the locals and their authentic lifestyle in its ‘’kafenion’’.
4
Our next stop will be at the monastery of Agios Georgios in Karydi. A monastery with a great history, scenic views to the White mountains and its trademark: the remains of the olive oil factory with its twelve arches.
5
Going through olive groves, vineyards, shepherd’s huts, we will visit old byzantine churches decorated with beautiful frescos dating back to the 12th century.

This tour would not be complete without a delicious wine tasting experience paired with lunch in a family-run winery.
